May update & ready for Turkey

3rd May 2014 News

Hello everyone,

There isn’t too much to report but it is good to keep in touch with you all.

A week or so after the tournament in Morocco, I helped Katie Dawkins run a Ladies Shot Saver day at Cowdray Park. Katie is one of the teaching pros at Cowdray.

It was a really successful day – we offered advice and hit some demo shots in the morning and then helped them out on the course in the afternoon. This included course management, shot selection, tricky lies etc… All the ladies found the day beneficial and we have another day planned in May.
Contact myself or Katie for details.

I then met with One Up Golf in Kent. It was great to finally meet them in person. We had a good discussion about clothing and this week I received a delivery of clothing all logo’d up. Thank you!
My new golf bag courtesy of Brand Fusion, has my main sponsors logos (BRI/OIA) on so I’m now nearly all ready to go come Turkey!!

The Cowdray Ladies Captain held her ‘Away day’ at the end of March and I went a long to support the day and played too! We played at Bramshaw in the New Forest, amongst the animals and had a great, fun day! It’s always nice to spend time with the friends I’ve grown up with at the club and who have helped me in many ways.
Always good to give back!

After that, I was incredibly lucky to go to Spain again for a weeks golf… The course we played was a good test and the greens rolled well which is always a bonus. To play every day bar one was great and I played well.
I kept scores to practice playing under near like tournament conditions and shot a few rounds under par.
It was also a good warm up for the Roehampton Gold Cup which was played on 12th April.

Karen, my mind coach caddied for me at Roehampton and said how she had never seen me strike the ball so well and so far!!
I really did hit it the best I have for a while, over 36 holes especially, so that was really pleasing to continue the good run. Unfortunately, through hitting it so well and far, I flew a few greens and ended up with tricky chip shots.
As a result, I didn’t score too well but overall, I took a lot of good stuff out of the day and know what I need to work on. (yardages being one thing!) I had friends come up to support me both in the morning and afternoon for which I was very grateful to them for their brilliant support and encouragement.

I have been playing quite a bit the last couple of weeks just to keep my game sharp as well as practicing hard on my short game too.
As you will see, I celebrated my Birthday recently and was treated to a lovely lunch at Cowdray with a group of friends. After that it was back to work – range, putting n then a few holes in the afternoon!!

I’m really looking forward to getting out to Turkey on Sunday 4th May. Karen is caddying for me again so we’ll give it our best!!
